The Christmas and New Year season is a fantastic time to take a holiday in Cornwall, with Christmas markets, festive lights and lantern parades and fabulous New Years Eve fireworks.
East Trenean Farm
Return to one of our holiday cottages and enjoy a warm fireside and a bubbling hot tub. All the cottages are decorated for the festive session with Christmas Trees and wreaths. With a great choice of local restaurants and pubs, you'll have all the ingredients to treat yourself for a relaxing winter treat.
Lights
Many Cornish towns are adorned with lights and trees during December. Looe Christmas light switch on and lantern Parade is Friday 1st December at 7pm. While Polperro switch on their lights the following day and also hold a Christmas market.
Christmas Markets
For those looking for a Christmas experience and an opportunity to shop the market events are a great choice.
Fowey Christmas Market is a magical event when the town comes alive with merriment, shopping, seasonal music. and. food and drink delights. This attracts many thousands of visitors and is only a 20 minute drive and river ferry trip. This year the dates are 8th to 10th Dec.
Padstow Christmas Festival 7 to 10 Dec is a foodies delight with a Chefs Theatre hosting demonstrations from celebrity chefs such as Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. The market is full of food and drink producers and art and crafts stalls.
Events
Many attractions hold special events, there is a Night Garden at Heligan, the Christmas Garland at Cotehele is a wonder to behold. There's a tunnel of lights in Charlestown and Santa can be found on a steam train departing Bodmin. You can even walk an Alpaca and meet Father Christmas!
The Eden Project has Biomes full of lights and music and there is an ice rink to spin around on. Here is a bit of festive joy for Eden Project Christmas 2022.
New Year Celebrations
Cornwall sees in the year in style! Looe has a fantastic firework display launched from the end of the Banjo Pier, which can be watched across town including from the beach. There is a tradition of spectators wearing fancy dress if you would like to join in!
We look forward to welcoming guests to East Trenean Farm for short or weeklong stays, for escapes for a treat or celebrations with family and friends.
